I've been put on these pills to help with periods and LESSEN bleeding in the first five days which are usually heavy with clotting for me.

I didn't get a chance to take them properly last cycle, but I'm into day 2 this cycle and I'm passing clots the size of golf balls .

Not only is it gross, it's the total opposite to what it is suppose to be doing and why my gyne put me on the damn pills in the first place! I'm going to ring and ask whats going on, but I was just wondering if anyone here as experienced the same thing whilst taking these pills?

TIA

My haemotologist prescribed these for me. I haven't used them yet because my bleeding disorder is one of those things that magically goes away during pregnancy but the way it was explained to me by the haemophilia nurse is that the tranexamic acid tablets inhibit the thingees (that's a medical term) which prevent you from forming clots.  In other words tranexamic acid is used to help your blood to make clots when it wouldn't normally.

Your should definitely chat to your gyn though, they may be able to prescribe a lower dose for you.

I took these prior to getting pg for the same reason as you and found they worked really well.

Definitely didn't have any clotting issues so if I was you I'd talk to gyne to make sure they've got you on the right dose.

Good luck!
