Topic: Avent Via Storage System Posted: 12 July 2010 at 8:47pm |
Just wondering if anyone can help me - I used the Via storage system with DD, this was just before it became known about BPA... Does anyone know if the Via system that they sell now has BPA, or did it ever??
I want to get a couple of new sets but can't find any that actually state that they are BPA free

From memory all Avent stuff is BPA free.... though the storage system is not meant for long term use. Its more use each cup a few times and throw away.... though they say to change the dummies/teats every couple of months too.
You could just email them?

Mmm, don't think it is BPA free. I was reading an article yesterday that said it had BPA in it.

Yep Mel you can re-use it up to 4 times...
I know that the bottles are now but there is still alot of old stock out there..
I think I'll call them, its getting pretty confusing, when I looked on their website it said that the Via is BPA free and had a little thing on the box, but when I looked in the shops the thing on the box wasn't there and I wondered if that was just old stock... Asked a couple of people in the shops and they had no idea!!
Starting to wonder if I should just get some storage bags instead, but the cups were so handy and they fit right onto the pump...

Maybe there is still a bit of old stock floating around????I am pretty sure my box had a BPA free thing on it (though it was over a year ago now) and they came with my pump...
To be honest I found the storage bags easier in the freezer but I expressed every night, once J dropped his 10pm ish feed, before I went to bed so I always had milk. Just kept them in a box at the back of the freezer....
Sadly I just threw away about a litre as he wont drink it from a bottle/cup anymore

Just called them and they said that the Via has never had BPA in it - the new labeling is just to clear up any confusion... Its always been a different kind of plastic..
I found them for a really good price on 'the deal' website so can order them now
Yeah I expressed alot with DD and plan on doing the same with this one and the cups fit really well in our freezer, plus they fit a good amount for a feed in each one...
Oh throwing away a L would be heartbreaking!!! I used to hoard it all, every drop was precious lol

Nov mum, I just looked up the deal site, and it looks like its just the bases it comes with. Maybe double check yourself, or maybe you dont need the lids?
