I've seem so many baby bags around, but I really don't know what a great baby bag should have or how it should be...

I looooove my oioi bag. I had a Kapoochi one which was good too but I saved up for an oi oi one for like a treat for myself. They are expensive though, and I found it cheaper importing one from aussie than buying one from anywhere in NZ, I looked at loads of sites to find the best deal

I've been through a few! Had a couple of cheapies (not enough pockets), found the large Kapoochi very heavy but it had tons of space, then switched to my Gubby Satchel which does the trick nicely. Not sure that it will when I have two babies to cart stuff for, but for one it's just great. Things I like are: lots of different pockets, a bag that isn't too heavy before it even has anything in it, a fabric that won't look too grubby too easily, and the wee straps that attach it to the stroller are so much handier than I imagined they'd be - they're brilliant!

I love the J&J one we got after doing the sleep trial. Its a backpac and not heavy etc.

Prior to that I had a Kapoochi one and I dint like it much! I think the backpac type Nappy bags are the best, easy to carry. I dont know thats just MHO.

However I am not sure if it will be ok to carry both kids stuff in it. Mind you I dont carry much for DD at the moment bu always have spare cloths/socks etc for her where ever I go, as well as some wipes and food....Hmmmm

I have a wee bit of a nappy bag addiction, although don't mention it to my DH!

One of my favourites is my Vanchi hold-all which I love because it doesn't look like a nappy bag at all but still has all the features I need. I bought it online from Aus and they shipped it here really cheaply.

My other favourite is my ISOKI petite traveller which is what I use constantly now, even when Alex isn't with me. It's the size of a smallish handbag but holds a HUGE amount of baby stuff, it's like magic! There are a few places in NZ that sell them, some even cheaper than in Aus which is odd because it's an Aussie brand.

I want more ISOKI bags...

I have a Vanchi as well and I love it. It's a brown faux leather bag and it really doesn't look like a nappy bag at all -more like a large purse. It also comes with a wet bag, change mat, dummy bag and bottle insulator.

Things I would look for are:
*Large size especially if you're doing cloth nappies. But you'll be surprised just how much stuff you cart about especially when they're really little and when they start solids.
*change mat.
*Zip on top rather than a velcro top - personal opinion here but I find them easier to access and DD can't work the zip yet.
*Zip internal pocket - handy for storing rusks, teethers etc that are small and you don't want to go digging for when they're upset
*Some sort of dedicated place for your keys - mine are on a cabana hook in the inside of the bag but just something so you're not digging around.

I have been through a few different bags..........either too heavy, not enough space blah blah blah!! Wasn't sure what I was going to use carting stuff for two so I have bought a normal backpack from the warehouse. It has three pockets, one for Leahs stuff, one for Joels stuff and one for my wallet, phone and keys. Its very light compared to proper nappy bags, but suits me fine.

I brought my Kapooci off Tm, it is a side carry bag....we have loved it and used it a lot.
We are done with it and would be happy to pass on for a small fee (It is still in very good condition)

We also have a J&J back pack which has been great as my boy got more active, could run after him and not worry about the bag

I love my nappy bag. It was $20 from Baby Factory.
Brand - Jolly Jumper in black. It can be attached to pram handles which I find very handy.
It has two outside pockets on the front and one large one at the bag. One fits in wipes and the other a box of nappy bags. The large one I put in a nappy change mat. Inside it has one zipped pocket.
I love it as it is simple and handy.
I had another one with lots of pockets but would get annoyed trying to find which pocket I had put stuff in.

I have got a skip*hop black messenger bag and I love it - it doesn't look like a nappy bag and isn't too big. The clips to attach it to the buggy are great and it is a bit like the tardis at times! I can fit enough stuff for 2 poppets if I am careful and have a regular clear out.

I my OiOi nappy bag I have the carry all style and it is plenty big enough for all the assorted crap one requires when one is out and about with four kids! Plus it looks stylie, and has lasted really well - I got it when I was preg with the gremlins and nearly 2 years of constant use on it still looks like new.
