Hiya,

Just want to know if this is actually necessary???

DH and I cant see the value add so to speak as wouldnt you just put baby to bed???

I guess our thinking is that bubs will move to a big bed when bubs number 2 comes along and needs the cot (according to plan of course) in which case we wouldnt use the function.

Just wanted to get an idea on how many of you actually used the cot as a bed????

Thanks

we are currently using our cot as a bed and it has been great. We didn't pay that much extra for it and it has been worthwhile for us. It made it a lot easier for Ella to transition to a bed, as it was still familiar for her and since we are a bit tight for space in her room it has saved a lot of space.

It depends on how big a gap you want for your child, as some toddlers are ready to move to a big bed at around 18 months (or slightly less) while others stay in a cot until 2.

We don't use it. Ours could convert but we just got a bed. We find having the bed great because it's bigger than a cot we didn't need to worry so much about him falling out of bed.

We are using ours as a bed at the moment, even though miss 2 has a single bed in her room she flatly refuses to sleep in it, so we ended up getting another cot from friends until she is ready to give hers up. She is quite happy in it and has never fallen out but just doesn't like the big bed.

I don't have a bubs old enough to sleep in a bed quite yet but we didn't bother with one as my theory is they will sleep where he's told to sleep. So when it comes time for a bed he'll be put in a bed. Yip may have a few nights of difficult sleep but he'll get over it. Maybe i'm a harsh mummy but I think we can get dragged down to needing every little things for bubs when often we don't need it.
