Topic: Wall Stickers/Decals Posted: 28 February 2010 at 3:44pm |
Hi,
I bought 2 x sets of removable wall decals and was very pleased when I first put them up.
Unfortunately, after only 3 weeks, they've started to peel off the wall
Could this be because of the heat at the moment, or do you think I should take them back? I did get them on sale, but they were still expensive.

your lucky they lasted that long..mine were up for a matter of minutes before a certain someone got hold of them. But there are a few that are up high and still there...not peeling in the slightest and we have had 35+ days. They were only warehouse jobs too....but they are only little ones.

I'd talk to where ever you got them from. I got ours from all4kids.co.nz and they have been on the wall for 3 years, been moved several times and still stick strong.

I got a stick on border and found it started to peel a couple of days after putting it up. I just kept rubbing it back down firmly every time I went in there for the next couple of days and it has now been up for a good year or so with no problems.

I've been sticking them back down, but it's got to the stage now that they last about 2hrs before peeling off again, so they're actually getting worse not better
I'll phone the shop tomorrow and see what they say. I didn't keep the receipt, because I thought they were OK.

Weve had ours on the wall (and have moved them a few times) for about 10 months now with no problems at all ... as long as you cleaned the wall as per the instructions I would think you shouldnt be having the problems that you are and you should take them back.

Thanks for the replies...
I phoned the shop this morning and apparently I'm not the first person having to return them. She thinks the manufactuer may have changed the adhesive or something.
Soooooooo now I've got to find something else to decorate the nursery with :s

Highly recommend using snugasabug.co.nz
Awesome products and service. Both my boys have had stickers up in their rooms for at least 8 months with no problems. I also gave my leftovers to DC and they have been on and off the walls and still stick.

Once you have a rough idea what ones you want I would just email the lady and ask what brand they are if you are wanting to avoid that brand.
She is really lovely to deal with.

Just a quick question - for the ladies that are using these stickers have you got them on painted (smooth) walls?
I have been thinking about putting some up as we are in a rental but we have textured wallpaper and most stickers state they need to be on a smooth surface. There are some out there for textured wallpaper but the choice and variety is not great.
Anyone had good success on textured wall-paper?
Thanks
