Topic: Best Place to Buy Kids Furniture Posted: 03 June 2008 at 7:32pm |
So I'm now looking for some nice girly furniture for Alyssa's room, and despite thinking for 1 second that maybe I could paint some blank furniture myself.. Reality is, I'm going to buy.
I have heard about Giddy Giraffe, and it looks nice (albeit pricey)... Has anyone bought stuff from there or anywhere that has similar or even nicer stuff?

Check this place out, I haven't brought from them - yet. I want to replace Nyah's dresser and bed side table. Once I've saved some money, I'll be getting stuff from here.

PS. When I was preg, I bought Maya a dresser that I planned to paint myself. Six years later it's still bare wood...

We love Giddy Giraffe here too, Erin has a table and chairs as well as a cube storage unit from them that was custom painted. I would have loved to have painted some things myself but I only ever got as far as doing her bedroom door!

Also Emma did you buy the whole set? like a set of drawers, a bookshelf and cabinet?
I want to get a low boy, tall boy, side cabinet and tall bookshelf but im thinking it may look too much in the room???? Im not much of a interior decorator lol
EDIT: lol I thought they claimed to be original hand painted stuff! Nope I dont think thats cool at all!!! Shows how much I take notice of things I saw them on tm and thought oh thats nice lol didnt realise they were that dodgy.
I cant decide between lulu bell or polly pink now. Gosh life is hard

They do paint it all themselves etc. it's just that their designs and color schemes are almost identical to Giddy Giraffe and Giddy Giraffe have been around a good 2 years longer. The Glitterbug lady has made no secret of that either...
Maya has a 4 drawer scotch chest, a low bookcase, a bedsider and a toy chest and it looks perfect in her room. She has a fairly big room.
Gremlins have 2 x 7 drawer dressers, a low bookcase, a toy chest and 2 x bedsiders. Their room does look cluttered but that's coz the two dressers take up so much room.
Chiara has a 7 drawer dresser, a tall bookcase and a bedsider, we went with the tall bookcase as there is less room in her room coz we also have a queen size bed in there.
Will try and find some pics...

Hehe, yeah I can see that happening here too so I'm not going to kid myself.
Thanks for posting the pics too.. I really like the look of the stuff I have seen. Glad to hear those who used The Giddy Giraffe have been happy with their products.
I also like the stuff in the twinkle-star website too Mel... Oh decisions, decisions!

There is a Whistling Jack factory outlet on Rosebank Road. The website stuff is pricey and I don't know what their stuff is like but might be worth a looksie.
Harvey Norman have a gorgeous set too that we have bought bits from (wardrobe, drawers and bedside cabinet). I think they come in a range of colours but we just got white
