Anyone have a Milano or MB stroller?

I don't think there is anything "bad" as such, but I think if you put the two next to each other, you can see the difference in the quality of the materials used (eg the frame, tyres etc)

Also IF mb's are still being made here (they may have moved offshore when they went into receivership, im not to sure on that part), but if they are made here, the labour costs alone would be higher than prams made offshore (which is the main reason P&T moved offshore) so that would be another reason for the price difference.

I havent really looked into the Milano but I will say that I have a mountain buggy and a phil and teds vibe and love them both (for different reasons), my only gems of advice would be ..

Can you adapt the pram to accommodate another child later (the mb has a toddler board, the p&t has a doubles kit)

Will it fit in your car

Can you collapse it (Ideally with one hand)

What are the accessories like, for example I like the way on a mb sunshade (or rain cover) that there is a zip on each side so I can unzip and pop my hand in, on the p&t, I have to lift the whole thing up to get at the bub. However I have a double mb, so im not sure that would be the same for a single , you would have to investigate.

On the capsule note .. you may want to have a capsule with a base (so you just have to click it in and out, instead of strapping it into a seatbelt and putting a lock on), it makes car rides so much easier. If you went in that direction then you wouldnt need a travel system with a capsule.

Oh and on a final note .. the resale value of a mb or a p&t will FAR outweigh the milano (just check out TM for evidence of that!)

Thanks for the help. One thing I have noticed here in NZ is that people either swear by their Mountain Buggies or their Phil and Ted's ... I never hear anything hardly about any other brand, and maybe there's a good reason for that.

We're planning (we'll see how that goes ) to wait 3-4 years to have another baby so I'm not that concerned about the P&T toddler seat, which seems to be a big seller for most people. I do want something hardwearing, though, that I can use with future babies, so I'm thinking about what you said about the early wear and tear of your buggy, melnel.

Any Milano owners out there?

I have an old-style Milano that I got 2nd hand on Trademe, it works well but I'm glad I only paid $150. I originally got it because I liked the idea of clipping the capsule onto it. I got the capsule off the same lady months later, only to find when I got it checked out at Plunket rental place, that our seatbelt didn't go right round the capsule! The lady I bought it off must have been belting it up wrong!
I went to Babycity to see if we could get a base - my capsule was an old style which didn't fit the new bases.... arrgh, it was a nightmare! Anyway, we ended up hiring another capsule and base from Plunket, and my capsule ended up in the basement....

Long story cut short - if you buy the new Milano stroller and capsule, you can get a base. However, I've heard snap 'n' go wheels are great, so you don't need a stroller to accommodate this. You could use snap 'n' go wheels around town with the capsule, and a stroller/buggy for walks and later on after bubs has outgrown the capsule.

The new Milano buggy is probably a bit smaller than mine, but my big problem is the size of mine, its quite wide and I keep bumping into things. But its great for bumpy or off-road. And check how to fold it down - mine is a real pain to collapse!! But they are sturdy, and as mine is 2nd hand, they do last well.
