LOVE it Flutterby!
Ella, I agree. It is quite weird when people you don't even KNOW ask if you're BF. They do it here too (mind you, it's quite normal here for complete strangers to ask how much rent you pay). I always feel like I have to justify why I'm NOT BF anymore .. even if it's just a passing question and I'm not feeding C at the time. So dumb. I don't even know these people and it's not like I'll ever see them again!
I sometimes feel like I have talked too much to my friends about what *I* do or have read about recently. But I hope they take it the way it's intended which is just that I thought it was interesting or it's relevant to whatever we're talking about at the time. Two of my closest girlfriends here have had babies around the same time as me and we've all done things SO differently and perhaps wouldn't necessarily agree with the way each other has done something but I'd never judge them for it and hope they don't judge me either. I don't mind hearing what they think about things though - I trust them and they know me really well so anything they say is with the best intentions IYKWIM.
It's the random strangers offering advice that weirds me out and pees me off. And MIL telling me stuff I already know or questioning WHY WHY WHY ALL the time. Still, she really is just interested and I try to ignore the comments that seem barbed.
Mind you, I really don't seem to come across it as much here so it will be interesting when I come home. I'm almost looking forward to someone giving me a hard time about FF Callum or asking me why he's not walking or something equally ridiculous
