    Posted: 12 June 2007 at 11:12am
Hi,
Was just wondering if anyone had used one of these and if they liked them. I am very slowly starting to buy things. Just one thing a week so that it's not to scare having to go out and get everything. Was wondering if I should buy one of these.
Thanks for your help.

im using a tubigrip, but if you need a belly belt while pregnant your mw can refer you to a physio where they will fit you for a belly belt.
i find my tubigrip is enough to help and used one for my first pregnancy aswell, i def notice when im not wearing it.

Hmmm, not sure if we mean the same thing. I'm meaning the attachment you use on your trousers that let's you wear normal clothes.

Are you talking about the Melon Bellies Belly Belts? You can get 3 packs on Trade Me. I bought some. They just let you wear your normal clothes without having that inch of skin showing under your tshirt.

Will probably get the bands from Mellon Bellies as well.

But was talking about things you can use to make your trousers more comfortable. They attach between the button and the loop.

Yep I used one throughout my pregnancy and it allowed me to wear my work pants and jeans for so much longer than I could have otherwise.. You have to wear a top that covers the space though cause it looks funny otherwise.. I know they're not suitable for everyone but worked well for me and I was happy with it

I HATED the belly belt, it never sat right and I thought it looked more like a loin cloth

It never worked with any of my pants because most of mine were hipsters and it never quite sat right. I used the smaller elastic straps in early pregnancy for just when I couldn't do my jeans up and wore a long top over it, but anything more than that wasn't any good for me.

Just on this topic, I was in Pumpkin Patch at the weekend getting things for Caitlin and noticed that this years winter range is actually quite nice and was even tempted to buy a top (I didn't though, might have been too tempting to put on more weight to fit it LOL)

i used the belly belt through both my pregnancies and found it great. if you are going to get one i'd also recommend getting a belly band also. i had 2 of these and wouldn't be without it. they are on TM also and are great for covering up the open zip
