Man, Southern Cross are just so thorough

They covered Maya's Pepti Jnr/Neocate from Nov 03 till we weaned her onto rice milk in Dec 04, and they've covered the gremlins Neocate since Nov 06, and yet all of a sudden they've 'decided' it's not covered under my policy. Apparently they only cover 'drugs' not 'foods'.

And they couldn't figure this out BEFORE they had paid out close to $1000? Way to be consistent!

Good on them. I've just changed plans (well they changed me) and now we have no excess and they are covering my endo to the new plan (which is great as it's counted as a pre exsiting condition yet i've been with them since I was 4 go figure that one).
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Ive heard that they have done this to some people. They tried to do it to me towards the end of Jaydes run with her special formula. I kicked up a bit of a stink and made lots of threats. Ha ha i think i may have pulled the fair go card . Its not like you to accept things Emma, you fight them. Oh btw are you sure that they arnt covering it because you have reached your max perscription cover for the 12 months?

I would query it. They refused to pay out for a test I had done saying it was a routine exam which it definitely wasn't. I rang & queried it with them & they looked into it & ended up reimbursing me.

Oh I did query it. And stamped my feet and spoke to the team leader. Who thanked me for bringing their inconsistency to her notice so that they could educate their staff better.
I'm not too bothered, I always knew it wasn't covered under my policy and just kept submitting the claims coz they kept paying them, we reached our $300 maximum for this year with Mercedes, but not quite with Sienna yet.

I can't complain too much tho. Between obstetricians, kidney specialists, paediatricians, kidney scans, psychiatrists and eye doctors we haven't had a single month since the gremlins were born where my claims have been less than the premiums. I wouldn't be without health insurance!
