As when he was born he wouldn't open his eye for days and was nicknamed Pirate.

At his 9 month check our plunket nurse was not happy with how his eye was turning in so she sent a referral to our dr and sent a referral to the hopsital. But we got a letter from them saying that even thou he is urgent he couldn't be seen for at least 6 months. I ring the insurance company and we are covered to see an eye specialist privately. So back to our dr to get the referral to go private. We got the appointment just before xmas that it was today yay.

So we went there and the dr had a good look at his eye and wanted to put drops in to get a better look. Josh has a slight lazy eye and is slightly long sighted. We will go back again this time next year to see if he needs glasses.

Glad you got the all clear for his eyes till next year. Lazy eyes are quite common in his age.  I had squints in both eyes when I was a baby and was suppose to have glasses at 2yrs. Self corrected and didnt get glasses till I was 12yrs. Fingers crossed the eyes self correct by next year.

I hope it does, mine never did and I had to have surgery when I was 6. I think he is more worried about the long sightedness.

Good to have a plan now, hopefully he won't need glasses when he gets checked again.

jack has just got his glasses for his lazy eye and slight long sightedness.....he needs to wear them everyday all day until he's about 8 and we'll go from there.

it's great that you are on to it while josh is still young. we didn't notice jack's until just before he was 2, but the hospital didn't notice until a few months ago after his first appt they told us it was something to do with growth and will fix itself.....glad i asked for another appt in a years time!
