Jake makes animal sounds a lot. Just lately he's been barking when he sees a rabbit though which is a little weird. I'm sure he says "bugger", and he has a "joke"
I pointed to a picture of an apple and said "apple"
Jake: "apple"
Me "banana"
Jake "nana"
I point to apple
Jake "apple"
I point to banana
Jake looks at me, and smiles
"apple", then cracks up laughing to himself.

Ayja is figuring out the whole cause and effect thing a bit more... she is a crack up cos she now has begun hiding and popping out and doing cheesy grins. she also loves getting praised.. she had been working hard to get shapes out of a fabric shape sorter earlier int he day, but i thought no, not gonna go do it for her. i saw her not too long after with 2 in her hands and i told her well done for getting them out, she looks at them and at me and does this little giggle to herself as if to say "i'm so clever aren't i?"
She is becomming more - "spirited" every day. we went shopping the other night just me and the 2 kids OH MY GOD NEVER AGAIN!!
they were in the same trolley side by side - Paris started bear-hugging ayja - ayja didn't like it so got grumpy and tried to push paris away, i told paris off so she packed a grump, then ayja started reaching up and pulling paris's hair (when she was little in the baby seat next to her it used to be the hood on paris's jacket that she'd go for)anyway chaos ensued, paris grouched, ayja kept pulling her hair - even after i tucked it down the back of paris's jacket - she still started reaching up and pulling paris's hairties out - paris grabs her round the neck and back in another bear hug, but really tight (mums of 2 will know this move - looks like they are hugging but really they are trying to squish/smother) so again i pry them apart and them ayja decide that even though she has no teeth she will lunge and bite paris on the arm.
so embarrasing - when mike came back from dropping off what he had to do - i'm sure he expected to find me half finished.. but nope - only at the milk section of pak,n,save (so about 2 minutes walk if i were childless)
Ayja has also started giving as good as she gets - her new thing is if paris annoys her she will get up on knees as if she's kneeling and just body slam at paris, pulling her hair biting her face and usually reuslting in pushing her over onto the ground where she continues to climb on her and scrag her.
of course all of this involves much screaming and squawking from both of them. I used to pry them apart (stil do in the supermarket) but at home for the most part i monitor it cos usually withing 2 seconds they have resolved it, usually paris realises and remembers that ayja isn't a pushover anymore and decides maybe she better give the toy back or share - crisis averted.
If they are like this now i hate to think of what is to come.

rofl, that had me in hysterics janine. It was like you were talking about my two (except Jayde has teeth and leaves very bad marks). Dont ya love it when they actually are nice to each other though. Sometimes one or the other of mine will go and cuddle and kiss the other.

lol the good thing (or possibly not) is that they are both very different - Paris is bigger boned - taking after me in body shape i think... and Ayja takes after her daddy - so while i don't think Paris will be large, i definately think she will be bigger in stature - i think Ayja will either love or hate being the skinny minnie - if she is only a little svelt then it will be ok, if she inherits mikes condition thenm shemight hate it (he got called "anna" or "bones" at school cos he does look a bit anorexic most of the time and there's no medical reason why)
ok, so, seriously - i am not coming on here again tonight, really i am not, i am studying i am i am i am i am i am
Just blame these preggies for going into labour - all their fault!
