I will try and make this post as short as possible as I think I am finally ready for bed ! I just finished doing a 'stock take' of all the baby stuff we have acquired / bought so far, and the list isn't looking too shabby ! Where I'm the most worried (for lack of a better word) is of course in the clothing department. I should have put it in order of what months/size stuff and how many of each thing in those categories that I have, but can't be bothered now LOL but will cut and paste it and would LOVE feedback... my guess is I could probably do with some more body suits, and maybe booties, for 0-3m? Dunno really... which is why I'm hoping those of you who are already mummies can help me out

Clothes (so far)

Yellow knitted booties & jacket (size unknown, prob. newborn)
7x fabric bibs
0-3m Maple Leafs booties
6-12m Maple Leafs booties
9-12m yellow ducky booties
3x 0-3m 'Kushies' all in ones (short sleeve snap up crutch)
6m Maple Leafs bodysuit
2x 0-6m yellow beanies
6m Toronto, Canada tshirt
0-6m Maple Leafs beanie
Gagou Tagou pacifier clip
2x Winnie the Pooh scratch mitts
0-3m yellow socks
Striped cotton Kushies beanie
1x 3 pack 0-6m white socks
54cm shirt and pants set (blue and yellow)
0-3m Peter Rabbit booties
56cm Peter Rabbit bodysuit (0-3m)
3x 56cm cotton-polyester bodysuits (0-3m)
1x 56cm 100% cotton bodysuit (0-3m)

Just remember that people will give you presents which will mostly be clothing. Babies do weird things to people as I got this gorgeous pumpkin patch outfit from people that my mother worked with that I have never met before!
You also don't need to buy too many newborn clothes as babies do tend to grow really quickly. Angie was 8lbs 8 when she was born so wasn't in newborn clothes for long esp since she was a guts

Ok for once I'm not complaining LOL But not a lot of stuff has actually been gifts from people. Mind you, when we were in Canada we got a gift voucher from my aunt and uncle for a store called 'Babies R Us' (part of the Toys R Us chain), and we picked up quite a few things that way. With our wedding I think people were happier to give us money, and of course some of that went into the baby budget - but it still leaves me with having to figure out and decide what to get.

I definitely don't want to get too much newborn stuff as I do realise they will grow out of it quite quickly, but at the same time I keep thinking of how often baby will probably dirty things LOL (Whether it be spit, poop, dribble, vomit...) Washing is my least favorite chore, but since I'll be the one that's at home with baby the most to begin with, I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

Yeah I like booties better because Xanda seems to have a habit of kicking socks off, whereas i can tie booties on.

I got the best little socks from The Warehouse (I only saw them in pink) and the are awesome, never ever fell off. Had a whole stack of them. Hated booties that I had to tie on as well, but mum knitted some sock type ones that were great. Hmm, maybe its cos Hannah has cankles...!

Will try and stock up on even numbers of both perhaps, but going to wait a while to get more so that I can be really cheesy and buy in pink or blue
