Topic: ittis med or large Posted: 21 January 2011 at 9:36pm |
i have about 8 small ittis and now my girls on the very last setting ... i don't use them full time a) because i don't have enough and b) because i always forget i have them! tho have been using them every 2nd day for the last week!
anyway i was wondering what last longer in terms of the med or large size ....... i don't really want to by med and have them only last a couple of months ..... i know its a far fetched question
but can anyone give me a rough idea??

Large go from 10kg, but I think you can get away with them from about 9kg. DS is almost 8kg and I have him in them sometimes, although he hasn't ever done number 2s in the large. I would be a little concerned about containment especially as when he moves his legs around lots the nappy can get a little bit gapey. Medium go to 12.5kg which on an average baby is 1yr - 1 1/2yrs old.
Have a look on those weight curve charts in the Well Child book and you'll get an idea of when your baby will grow out of each size and can then decide what would be most worthwhile. Ittis have quite good resale value on Trade Me tho especially in good condition...

If she's on the very last clip, then you could go to a large.

I would try a medium and a large and see what works best. If you bubba has really skinny legs then some mediums might be best for now, but if she has chubby thighs then you may get away with going straight into larges. My DD has super massive thighs but still fits her 2nd hand medium ittis fine but grew out of the new ones real quick cause the elastic was to tight. She now fits her new larges good but has some growing to do to get into her 2nd hand larges. I hope that makes sense and helps some what!

I find my baby got great use out of medium. She had great big thighs, went into them at about 5.5/6kg and now at about 8.5kg she is still wearing them. So shes been wearing them from 2.5/3mths to now 9 mths, shes not looking to grow out of them anytime soon as she is moving lots and is hardly gaining much weight. She also fits the large that is new, but the secondhand not so much as the elastic is more stretched and it gapes/leaks around her thighs (and she has really BIG thighs).
Hope that helps, it really depends on age, shape, and size of your baby. Also how quickly they start moving, the earlier movers stop gaining so much weight in general and therefore fit mediums longer.

We;re rocking up the mediums at the moment. DD is 9 months and been in mediums since 3 months, and currently still has 2 snaps on each side to use, so we'll be using them still for a while yet unless she porks it on lol.
However, she's not really a tubby baby, in proportion - but probably slightly smaller than many her age.
I'm currently trying to work out if i should be buying more mediums, or now look at larges - same reason, dont want to buy something i wont use fo rlong.

I had a chubby boy and whilst he fitted med (sorry cant remember the age) he also fitted large and large were more absorbant! So thats a thought. Maybe buy a large to see (if its too big, put it aside for later). Or what about the tutto?

DS is almost 1, and is 10 kg and fits both the medium and large. We only have 2 large, but he still has a few snaps to go on the mediums and we have been using them for about 6 months+.

when you say you're on the last snap, does that mean the very last one, or are both snaps still on the nappy? does that make sense?
i'm hoping that my daughter will start crawling early and lose some chub so we can get longer wear out of our meds lol, she is 4 months and 8kg already!
