Just curious, how old was your first bubba when you started trying for number 2?

We've got a spring baby and as we live in a cold climate, I'm keen on another spring baby, thinking of TTC Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar

This would mean approx 2 year age gap....

I went off the mini pill to start trying when K was 6 mths, got a BFP the next month so she will be just over 16mths when this one is born. I had an end of summer/autumn baby and didn't want another lol, so aimed for spring :D
Kiara is 3 and Teagan is 2, now we're expecting our long awaited 3rd!

First bub was 17months when we started trying for number 2. Got pregnant when she was 18months (a lot quicker than expected - it took a lot longer the first time!!)

Good luck!

ETA DD is a late summer baby (was due early autumn though) and this one will be a late autumn bub. Am looking forward to snuggling up with my babies over winter hehe

We wanted a 2 year age gap but didn't want our kids born the same month, so we aimed for the following month which is what we got. We planned the months they were born so i'd be pregnant mostly through winter then the baby would be born when it was warming up. So October then November. It actually didn't end up being a very good age gap for us as our daughter had reflux (so did our son) quite bad and cried a lot for months, and our son is a real handful. Obviously things are a lot better and easier now that they're older but i wouldn't want that gap again. So we'll be trying for our 3rd mid 2012 which would make it around 3.5 years between the youngest 2.

Everyone has different ideas of what a good age gap is.

ETA: So my son was 16 months when we started trying and i got pregnant.

I would have loved to have started ttc#2 months ago but a few things put it on hold. We have been ttc now for a month, due for AF next week but if pg first cycle (which im not expecting), there would be a 20 month gap

@_Deb_ - I'm keen on the same thing, I don't want bubs to have to share her birthday!

@CurlySue - good luck with TTC, sorry that it is taken longer than planned for you

I'm really not keen on having a autumn/winter baby because we're living in such a cold winter climate and don't really want to be taking a NB out and about + I've loved spending the summer out with my bubba!

Isn't it funny, you get 1 and almost immediately think about #2

We started TTC #2 just before DD's first birthday and just over 2 years later we are still trying!! DD was born in the winter time and I didn't have any issues with that.

I started off this journey considering all sorts of things like season, age gap, my age etc and now I just want a baby!!!

Good luck with your journey.

We started ttc number 3 (my oldest is 8) when number 2 was 9months (I think) I was pregnant when he was 11months.
Its hard work, now in hindsight I would have preferred a 2 year gap,but its not all bad, just tricky cos Ty is still a baby himself in a lot of ways
My first 2 are winter babies,my youngest is a summer babe, out of the 2 I definitely prefer being pregnant in winter

WE had to try for quite a while to get number one - I totally don't care about time of year, and although I agree, two years sounds nice, if we were to get pregnant tomorrow I'd be overjoyed. I think you can make anything work.

As far as having birthday's together, Jacob was born the day before mine, so if a second Bubs was born round then we'd just have a birthday season

2 years is a good age gap. Have them close before you change your mind like I did, lol. My DD got to 3 and then I decided I DEFINATELY did not want to go back to the baby/toddler stage as 3 is so easy!

I decided to start trying as soon as AF returned which was when DS was 3 months old. As it took a wee while to get pregnant the first time I just wanted to get on with it in case it takes a while again - nothing has happened yet... maybe next month. My 'ideal' age gap would have been 18 months.

I would have loved a 2 year age gap but I am too old to wait too long in between babies especially as we want 3 I know that small age gaps are going to be hard work but I hope it will be worth it in the end!

We had a 21 month gap between ours and it sure was hard. DS2 was a total screamer and really only wanted to sleep on me for the first few months. In some ways it worked out ok as DS1 is the easiest boy ever and never got jealous etc but maybe if J had come later he might have. I put a lot of effort into continuing his activities like playgroup etc so he didn't feel his life had come to a crashing halt.

We thought we wanted 3 kids hence the short age gap but after J and the screamfest i have totally changed my mind. Knowing what i know now i wish i had waited another year so that DS1 would have been closer to going to kindy. It would have meant that i had longer with just him and i and also more quality time with DS2 (it is so hard to get 1:1 time with each). I got so stressed with the whole screaming baby thing that i was not the greatest mum for a while there and i feel a bit sad that poor DS1 had to experience that. If he had been off to kindy he would have had something of his own and i could have had some time out.

If I get a BFP in the next couple of months I will have similar gap to your two crafty1. I am seriously hoping for an easy 2nd baby as my DS1 sounds a lot like your DS2! I have the same concerns as Birdie - I want 3 and I'm feeling my clock ticking so really just want to get on with it and I'll just have to deal with quite a few tough years!

We started trying when DS was 6 months, I had heard so much that second babies can take a bit longer when TTC but we were very fortunate and got UTD right away so we will have a 16 month age gap.

For some reason I didn't think of the seasons.. just the month and all I knew was that I didn't want another Jan baby so DS wouldn't have to share his birthday month I loved having a summer baby (was GREAT for doing washing) but my favourite season is winter so I'm looking forward to lots of cuddles and snuggles with our two kids!
