Topic: Plunket Question Posted: 07 November 2010 at 11:06am |
we're moving towns in a couple of weeks and just wondering what happens with Plunket? Do they have to transfer us to another office like with the doctor, or do we just show up at the new Plunket?
Have tried ringing them to ask but they're so useless at answering their messages and I'd kind of like to get it sorted!
Cheers

We moved when DS2 was 6mths & I just rung the closest one to me & they arranged to get his records & they got DS1 also & he was 4yrs old.
To be honest I never even thought about it as was too busy with everything else.
We also moved when DS1 was 2 but I did not do any follow up plunket with him.

You can request your files or they post them on, I asked Plunket at our first meeting because we were unsure how long we were going to be where we were (still same place). Just let them know where you're moving to and area and they can forward it on for you.

I think they will send them to the Plunket nurse & not you as they are medical files, but they may do a copy for you if you ask.

I moved when DD was 5mths. I think I Was told to ring them I didn't. The office I moved to rang me up and confirmed with me that we had moved and that they were able to request the records from the other office. Then you just need to ring to book your appointment

Let your current PN know you're moving - the when and where's of it all so they know to expect the request for records. When you've moved, contact the local Plunket office (or regional office if it's a larger city that has several offices) and then they'll do the transfer of your notes.
Or at least this is how I went about it when I moved from Welly to Chch.

I've just done this, we moved to Ohakune from Dunedin. I actually had to ring Plunket Line! Because the Ohakune Plunket is operated from Taihape, as I found out through Palmy North regional office!
But yeah, what the other said - talk to either your current Plunket nurse, or ring the nearest office to where you're moving to, and they will transfer your records.
