Topic: OSFA Pocket Nappies - T or F? Posted: 27 June 2007 at 2:45pm |
Hi ladies
After some further MCN "research" I see that some brands of pockets, such as Bum Genius, come in one size fits all nappies.
For anyone who has used them, is this really true? It sounds like a great plan to me but I'm just wondering if they leak if the baby isn't big enough or anything like that?

Correcto with the leakage issues. Some better than others.
It's usually said that OSFA should really be OSFM (one size fits most)

The only thing I found with OSFA is they can be really bulky on smaller babies!

i had a smart e pants OSFA and didnt get any leaks with it but i wouldnt have called it a one size fits all as it was quite a small fitting nappy and i found out later they had a toddler nappy... so depending on when they TTed it may not be a true OSFA. i also tried a cheek boutique and never had leak problems but they have adjustable legs as opposed to rise. i didnt think tho that they would last more than one child.

I'll second that! and what Paws said about the bulkiness. The one I tried from a mate (can't remember brand) was so big I couldn't fit her pants over the top

I have tried a couple on Kaleb but he's only 10weeks so haven't seen how they go for different sizes yet. They are a little bulky but I really like them for nighttime use as I sure can stuff a lot into them. I have tried BumGenius, Bum Basics and Haute.

We have one BumGenius pocket & Haute, and I tried the Bumgenuis a few nights ago - big mistake - major leaks. They really gape around the back of the thighs when you push her legs up and won't tighten anymore in that area. I guess Sam is just a little small for it yet - even with her chunky monkey thighs The Haute seems better, no leaks but not tried overnight. I have been using the Fuzzi's overnight with a microfibre insert & a prefold with great sucess. No leaks what so ever

Thanks for that ladies, it has confirmed what I suspected. I might try one or two OSFA when baby is a little bigger (and actually here )

OSFA is great in theory isnt it? I think they are too bulky on newborns and if you end up with a big toddler then they wont last through to TT.

i've tried mommys touch and wonderoos. the mommys touch were great on jack, but too bulky on charli at 4mths. i didn't try it again on her before i sold it.
the wonderoos were good on charli but they were too low in the rise for jack so definately wouldn't last til toilet training a toddler
