I'm having real issues with my itti bittis SIO's. I do a cold rinse cycle, then a warm wash with a natural (non biological) powder. They leak after a hr or 2 on my DD. Any ideas?

TIA

Do you maybe need to strip them?

I would email Itti Bitt direct, they are really helpful and answer any queries very promptly.

We had massive leaking issues with DD's smaller sized itti's - so much so that i almost swore off them and didn't upsize.....but so glad i did, and we have no probs now!

our problem came down to me using curash powder with the nappies - it caused a build-up (which I have yet to try and strip before we use them next time around!)

Are you using anything like that that might build up? I think the suedecloth is not as forgiving as other microfleece nappies. Otherwise, is your DD in larges yet? might help upsizing?

Big pee-er? Try a booster and see if that helps
Check the fit. Is there wing-droop? Might be worth adding an extra snap
Make sure the SIO insert is staying IN the nappy once bubs is up and about
Are they wicking onto the clothes she's wearing?

Also, do a full strip cycle

they are narrower though the crotch so it could be that it just isnt holding in all the pee.

Which part do they leak out of? The legs? The top or back?

I've had problems too and think for us, they don't fit quite right around his legs (they must be skinny in comparison to his tummy) and within and hour or two they leak around the legs. I've been using covers and that helps with that problem.

Then other times if they leak out the top I think that's more because there's too much pee so I bought a bunch of boosters and that's helped. Though I think that was usually with the AIOs, rather than SIOs.

I must strip mine too as we were using curash, I stopped using it but never stripped them.

I wouldn't have thought curash was an issue either - afterall, i was using it because it said it was ok with cloth nappies, but there was a thread a while ago about leaking ittis, and i think the common link between all the posters was curash!

I'm pretty sure the people at itti bitti reccomend curash powder as it doesn't cause build up.

Im having the same problem - but dont use any nappy creams/powders.
What does the wing droop mean? Is it that they are too big/small??

Must do a strip of them once the weather is a wee bit nicer!

Thanks for all the replies!
I don't use powder on her, what does everyone mean by stripping them?
I think the leak through the inside of the leg. She is still in Med, they seem to look alright on....
