stupidly enough i have never done this before. so i wanted to know do i have to individualy wrap them before freezing, how long can they stay frozen, can i put them in the lunch box still frozen???

i made some bran muffins the other week and my boy loved them but the recipe made over 18 muffins, too much to eat in one go!

I've frozen muffins before, I put the whole batch in to zip lock bags. I microwaved them on 15 secs each when it came to eating them, I suppose putting them in the lunch box in the morning they'd be defrosted by lunch time.

Normally muffins don't last more than a few days in our house, DH eats them.

I've frozen muffins both individually wrapped and all just in a container before, both ways were fine.
Not sure how long they can stay frozen for sorry.
And I have often put them in the lunchbox frozen in the morning, I assume they defrost by lunch as I've had no complaints! Good in the summer too for keeping the lunch cool that little bit too :)

I prefer to wrap them individually before I freeze them if they are going into lunchboxes. I've found if I wrap them frozen then pop them into my lunch box, they do defrost, but they condensate on the inside of the gladwrap first, and can make the muffin a bit soggy on the edges. If they are wrapped before they are frozen, the condensation seems to stay on the outside of the wrapper.
I think they'd last a good while, but I've never tried to keep them more than a few weeks.

we use to make huge batches at the cafe and freeze them in one container
tip is once you defrost them, dip in milk and place in oven for a few minutes, makes them all soft and 'new' again
