Ok ladies so I am looking for inspiration for DS birthday cake and wondered how many of you had made birthday cakes for your kids...would love to see some pics

I wanted to buy the Lightening McQueen cake tin to do that cake for DS but the dang thing is $35.....so to that idea.

Got a couple of books out of the library but thought I would put this out there to see what creative geniuses we have amongst us

Our toy library hires out cake tins like that - maybe that could be an option? And cake shops often hire them out too. Good luck!

PS i think there is a birthday cake thread here somewhere full of amazing photos. Far flasher than anything i could do...

you can also just make a big square/rectangle cake and cut the shape out, that's what I did with DS's Pooh cake. Or the Australian Womens weekly cake book will have plans for a car, just change the icing colour
