QuoteReplyTopic: Help! Whats she doing?! (BF/SOLIDS Q) Posted: 04 October 2010 at 9:25am
Hey!
So my 7.5 month old started solids at just a couple of days past 6 months. She pretty quickly went from 1 - 3 meals a day (within a week or 2 of starting) and has always loved her solids! Would keep eating if she could... Could quite easily demolish 1 of the small watties/only organics baby jars in 1 sitting and now can quite easily demolish 1 of the bigger jars.
Anyway my concern/worry is that before starting solids she was feeding about 2 hourly during the day (BF) and about 4 times over night (12 hour period so 3 hourly) but since starting solids she has gone from 4 times to 3 times over night (that's fine) but isn't interested during the day at all, she will continuously latch and come off and and have the odd suck. When she does suck it isn't for long and it's like she is only taking the 'drink' part and not the fatty part (I've checked because my milk is still watery and not the creamy colour it usually was at the end of a feed) anyway... Just wondering if that is normal for her to do? I've tried a blanket over her head, feeding in quiet/dull room... She just isn't interested. She feeds for about 1-2 mins max instead of her usual 5-10mins. She only ever has 1 side per feed (had an issue with her getting too much foremilk) so could she be weaning or what?
She feeds fine over night and will feed 1 side for 10 mins.
Yup am offering milk first and she goes about 30 mins - 1 hour, usually it's just that she sees us eating and demands some too (doing a mix of BLW and she has some purees) before she has her solids
shes probably just sorting it all out - if she is asking for what you are eating then thats good. i probably wouldnt give her more solids after that if she has eaten though...
