How about going as Vanilla Ice - think fluro trackies, lots of bling, sidewides caps....

Its a pretty broad range - maybe make insect costumes out of bin bags (black bin bags and yellow electrical tape - instant bee!) buy wings from the $2 shop, black tights / leggings.....

You could go as your favourite lollie / chocolate bar - paint up some cardboard boxes / use wrapping paper....

Good Luck.....let us see pics!!

are you by chance a kindy teacher??
you have genius creation ideas.
i was contemplating looking at the kids/adults costumes at the warehouse and seeing if i could squeeze into them. but they are like 40bucks

and still doesnt give DP something to wear.
hes 6'2" and almost at the large end of a 2XL so not overly small, so ideas for him too if anyone has any would be helpful

Why not buy a cheap all in one white boiler suit (like this one - overalls I think repco and places like that might have them) and then paint / draw bones on them....then you could be a doctor and skeleton!

I am not a kindy teacher - I just LOVE LOVE LOVE dress ups, and my parents used to do some awesome things with us for dress up as kids! The bones on overalls one was my brothers fave for halloween as a 6 year old! My Dad did it for him!
