Topic: Has anyone used my baby OSFA off trademe? Posted: 22 February 2010 at 12:55pm |
Has anyone bought the brand My Baby OSFA off trademe and how did you find it? Has good buyer feedback on trade me anyway and seems good price.
There are so many types of cloths nappies very hard for a newbie and quite an investment to.

I had one, it was ok. Lasted 2 hrs max with their standard inserts though. I'm not going to recomened them. If you want a good investment you need to pay the dollars. As you get what you pay for.

Thanks Sarah.
I wondered that as they are alot cheaper than all the other brands.
Such a big outlay especially as we have to buy 2x as many
I am going to get prefolds to start with.
Perhaps should just buy one of a few different brands to see which will work best on the twins?

I used flat traditional flat cloth nappies and fluffies/covers with my first and then i discovered all the other pockets, fitteds.....and got rid of the flats. He's in cloth full time.
I'm going to use prefolds on this baby. I haven't used them before but hear fantastic stories. For 1 I have 24 bummis organic prefolds and 6 wraps. Then I have a few fuzzibuns and honey child pockets for it as well. Mostly for night times and til it fits the next size or whatever.
I have a friend who's about to have her 5th baby and has got the real nappies birth to potty kit. She has 2 of them still in nappies with this one on the way will be 3. I think she does spozies when out and for nights though.

I have some my baby nappies - I second SB's comment on them not lasting for long with the standard inserts - I use a hemp or bamboo insert as well as the standard insert that comes with them and they work really well. I found they took more washes than my other nappies before the leaks stopped. Great as a nappy for when my prefered brands are in the wash, but not the first one I grab by choice.

My cousin has had the same experience if they're the knock off Bum Genius type ones I'm thinking of. I bought the proper ones, she bought the trademe ones. Hers only lasted for one kid as the gussets gave way a bit and she had to buy a lot more inserts. Mine are still in perfect condition. I would recommend going for Bum Genius over a homemade style, but that's just me.

Thanks for the feedback emz.
We were quite keen on the price of the my baby but it would be better to get good quality ones especially if decide to have a third child.
Think will get some snazzipants prefolds to start with quite a few in april 2010 thread have got or going to order the special delivery pack and have heard good things about them.

I have some, They were great when DD was littler and wasn't wetting heavily. I have to use them now with their big insert plus a hemp/bamboo one and find that will go for 3 hours. They aren't bad but not my first choice.
I had one nappy have the elastic go on the back of the PUL and they seemed to be fine with me sending it back (although I haven't heard anything since but it was late last week that I sent it) they do have reasonable guarentees. I am going to use them as back up nappies once I have more of the ones I really want. Plus use them as daycare nappies.
If I was to do all over again I would spend more $$ I have some coloured ones that I am about to put on trade me so that I can get some tot bots nappies. They have been used a couple of times but I didn't like the colours on DD.

We used them from 3 months till 9ish months. I did love them, they would last 3 hours and contained BF poo explosions. But suddenly around 9 months they started leaking - think it's because DD started drinking more as the weather got warmer and so started weeing more! Could have just used different inserts but didn't want all the ones that came with them going to waste, plus wanted to make my own nappies so sold all the mybaby ones (we had about 20 of them) and now DD is in mama-made nappies during the day (stuffed with a flat nappy) and Ecobubs/LittleButtons at night (and also a mixture of flats/covers before I'd got around to making enough nappies to last two days).

I'm also using them this time around, and started when bubz was 2 weeks and think they are pretty good. Contain the BF poo explosions well and last up to 8 hours at night (will have to start adding the second insert soon though).

jacobsmummy - it depends on how much of a wetter your baby is - my girl pees a LOT, I have to use a minimum of two inserts (One large mybaby insert, and a hemp insert) in her mybaby nappies.

I'm the same as FreeSpirit. One of the big ones plus a hemp or bamboo. Sometimes I use 2 little ones and a hemp or bamboo. If I just use microfibre she leaks
