Hi DD is almost 15 months and this last week she has been really hard work! My usually content baby seems so irritable and grumpy! I am wondering if she is teething again, or if she is unwell (she has had a slightly raised temp) or maybe I am making excuses and this is just her becoming a difficult child? It just seems weird that it was so sudden but I worry I am looking with "rose tinted glasses". She has always been so well behaved though and we are pretty strict on routine and what is expected of her? Thoughts?

Don't some teeth come through now?

Just be consistent in your approach and hopefully it'll brush over. She'll probably be pushing the boundarys too

Cuddle her, cuddle her, and then cuddle her some more. Perhaps it's teething, perhaps she's unwell, perhaps she is trying to gain autonomy and is finding the world and it's limits hard to deal with. Whatever the problem she needs love and comfort foremost. Do you have backpack, I find wearing my 15 month old helps on the days she is finding it tough.

i dont think they become difficult children... lol! Its just a phase probably. adults arent always happy either. it could be the weather having an impact, it could be teeth or just general grumpiness.

Thanks, its nice to hear other mums think along the same lines as me, I'm not happy letting her "cry it out". As it happens I took her to the doc yesterday and she has tonsillitis! So glad I didn't make her "harden up" as someone suggested!

My boy is a chilled little dude, and when he's hard work it's pretty much always because something's wrong. At 15 months, even if there'd been nothing wrong with your daughter I would have thought that lots of love and cuddles and distraction (while keeping firm boundaries, of course!) would be the best bet anyway.

I hope she's better soon.
