1. Hot wash, just water
2. Cold wash, 1/2 cup each of white vinegar & baking soda
3. Cold rinse, 1/2 cup white vinegar
3. Cold rinse, just water.

found this - anyone else have a different successful way?

I do a whole series of rinses cause I've got a front loader. Or you could just have a squizz in the top of the machine. I rinse until I don't see bubbles.

I think that basically is the way to do it though.

Natcats, what I'd do in your case is put a little bit of dishwashing liquid on the bit that was against the bum/zinc & give it a scrub with a brush & then do the steps above.

I'm trying to think of the website that had the stripping info on it!

I think my diapers have detergent buildup. What should I do?

Wash once in hot water with one teaspoon (for high efficiency machines) to one tablespoon (for regular washing machines) with original liquid Dawn (blue formula) and up to 1/2 cup bleach in the wash cycle.

Do two additional hot water washes with no detergent to completely rinse the diapers clean. If you still see suds, keep rinsing until the diapers are rinsed clean.

That is from the bum genius website, there is a similar thing on the itti bitti website too.

You definately need to scrub to get zinc out!
