Hi
My daughter has just decided all by herself that she doesn't want to wear her nappy - at least not very often. I actually have no problem with her being in undies but we have carpet and more than that I actually don't think she's ready as she hasn't been able to take herself to the potty once. So far I've managed to convince her to wear pretty pink pullups and do sometimes manage to get her back in nappies.
But what about the carpet - and it's a rental property!
If you are ready to have a go with her then you are part way there already - she's motivated to be wearing undies instead of nappies. When I toilet trained my DD we spent a couple of days mostly outside and she ran around with no nappy on. I think that was when she started to get the connection between the wee sensation and what was coming out. Then after that I put her on the toilet every hour or two when we were inside and just cleaned up the accidents on the carpet. I just used hot water and disinfectant to clean up and it hasn't left any stains. We never had poo accidents on the carpet though - she did those in her undies for a while till she got the hang of going on the toilet for poos.
Hi Wondering Why,
our little girl was trying to be a big girl like her cousin who is a year old and has been refusing to wear a nappy. She does have a few slip ups and on the carpet :( but I just use water and a cloth to soak it up - there are no stains and we really clean it up well.
A friend of mine has used some ecostore products cleaning up her little boys mess but he's done number 2's :) I haven't encountered that yet :)
