We just went out for dinner at Turkish Cafe. I didn't know that's what we were doing as it was a surprise :)

Like a concert, or a show, or a ballet? Bound to be!! You should look at some of those events websites to see!

Perhaps you could have a BBQ for your friends and their families...that's what my DH wants for his 30th this yr. And you could take a raincheck on the going away for a weekend until baby is old enough to be okay on either expressed milk or other. Two days off at this stage shouldn't make you go up like a balloon but you may prefer to wait until 12mos?

it depends whether you want classy or just plain old fun. a mocktail party would be great, there are some scrummy ones. for my birthday last year I had a little kids party, complete with cheerios, candy, chicken chippies, burger rings, candy floss, icecream sundaes. needless to say we all felt really sick by the end of the evening but had an awesome time.

yeah a mocktail sounds like a cool idea!

i wondered about a kids party too - with a pinyata - limbo stick - musical statues etc.

i thought if I had a mocktail where everyone had to dress up swanky - then my kids could come as it could be at mum and dads and I could invite family and friends and give my younger cousins some cash if they help out with the kids during that party. but everyone elses kids apart from young babies would need to be looked after somewhere else. and have yummy nibbles - a friend of mine does a really nice non-alcol punch
