Hi ladies,

My son is a heavy wetter so have always used disposables at night but even with Huggies he had started waking up wet .

I now use a itti bitti trifold bamboo insert inside him huggies and have had no leakage but...

He stinks in the morning..he never did with just the huggies and doesn't during the day with the itti bittis so is it just being in so long at night?

Does anyone else have this problem?

I wash his insert in the morning wash with dettol etc and it comes up fine.

My boy stinks in the mornign but that only if I need to strip the nappies so maybe you could try that also let them get some sun on them (ha, if you can find any).
It could be that the chemicals in the huggies are affecting the itti bittis.

Oooh peanut - I can't help on the smelly thing, but must give then "insert inside a 'sposie" idea a try!! Luke has always been a big wetter at night and so I use Huggies as well. But I often have to change him in the night, or I get woken at 5am with a wet boy...

So thanks for the idea!

I think it's the concentration of the ammonia in the wees over night, ie the first wees are smelling IYKWIM

Bel, pleased to be of help! I haven't had one leak since I started doing it and its been over 3 weeks now. Although he still wakes up about 5.15...damn him!!

They seem to have settled down now - it was a really weird smell - smelt pooy rather than like wees but I never use the trifolds in his ittis so wonder if it was just while they were being worn it as haven't had it in the last 2-3 days so fingers crossed as it was
