I'm looking at organising our play room better and just wondering what systems etc you have in place, or would ideally like in place, in your play room/area for the kids? We have puzzles, books, drawing/cutting, rugs, seats, and general toys and blocks all in the same room.

We use those sets of plastic drawers to sort the toys, Maya has two sets in her room with barbies, dolls clothes etc. in them. We have one in the kitchen with coloring books, felt pens, stickers, crafty stuff etc in them and one in the lounge with blocks in it.

Other than that we just use those big 60l plastic tubs.

Andrew has those plastic cubes from the Warehouse that has his toys in them. They have different toys in them (blocks in one, cars in another) and for his books he has a couple of those small book shelves from the Warehouse again to put them on. His puzzles are on another book shelf too.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Teresa you've seen our girls rooms haven't you? That shelving unit in paris's is a godsend.

They also have the 5 drawer sparkle drawers like Emma has, and yep we use the 60L containers too.

We've got a few cardboard boxes that we covered in nice wrapping paper that we use as toy boxes. We also have a shoe box for all of her craft stuff (pens, paper, crayons etc) but that's on top of her bookcase as I don't want her to help herself to it in case she decides to redecorate her playroom

yeah we have a budget(ish) plastic 4 drawer set for art stuff, 1 draw for paints/collage stuff/face-paints, the other for playdough, the other for paper/colouring books/dress-up dolls, and the other has the pens/pencils/crayons/coloured pencils/felts. We keep it in the shed which is off the lounge/dining area(internal access) so they have to go past us to get to it - we can always see what they're doing/getting.
