I *think* (and I'm not the expert - Gsmum and Nikki will have more idea) that a combination is a good idea. Microfibre absorbs small amounts really quickly, whereas hemp is more absorbent overall but slower to absorb. So it works well to put a microfibre + hemp with the microfibre closest to bubs so that the microfibre soaks thru into the hemp if that makes sense?
My fave inserts at the moment are the Ecobubs hemp/cotton blend, they seem to be super absorbent and last for ages.

I do a combination of microfibre and hemp at night time, but only use microfibre during the day - I think it is trimmer.
Have just ordered a microfibre pocket insert from Baby Harmony - you can get a hemp inner for the microfibre insert, if that makes sense? I haven't tried something like this so will let you know how it goes.
I've got some bamboo inserts on the way from Tweedle just for something new to try.

Oh ok so il go for the half and half ones I was looking at them because i bought one nap with the inserts and one without (have no idea why!) so il have to get an insert for one.
Tweedles and Ecobubs sell their inserts as accessories as well and do a combo of hemp/microfibre in a flat that you just fold into three. That works really well.
(Geez - and way to put me in the "experts" pile Emma - I just regurgitate what I have heard Deb say! )
