We use them!!! Have used them since henry was a couple weeks old. They have been great!! i love them. Havent made it to potty yet so dont know how they go for toddlers yet but so far they have been great. I find them better at night than dissposables so we use them 24-7. I liked them also because they are plain. I didnt really see the point in having flash designer nappies (it seemed like a waste of money to me). I would fully recommend them.

Stop right there! Don't go buying a complete system before bubs arrives! I haven't used ecobots personally - for all I know they're great - but I just wanted to say please, please trial a few different types of nappy before you shell out that sort of money. (I spent a few hundred on one type of nappy while I was still pregnant, before I'd really seen the wealth of options in MCNs, and really regretted it!)

Prefolds and covers are among the cheapest of cloth nappy systems, and are apparently good for newborns, but IMO there are much better options out there.

If you're worried about cost you can make pocket nappies really cheaply

I'd really recommend getting a hire kit or buying a couple of a few different types of nappy before you make a decision one way or another.

Real Nappy Week is only a month away, might pay to check out the Expo in Western Springs on May 2nd (actually I will post a separate thread about this). There will be a bunch of different brands/types of nappy there and also some people doing some sewing demonstrations so you can see how easy it is.

I agree with weegee - try a few different brands to work out which you like best. There are so many different styles/brands out there and every baby is different. You can buy preloved nappies on Trade Me or The Nappy Network, that's what I've done for my newborn. I have a whole range of nappies and have loved trying them all. When I go to the next size I'll be sticking to one or two of my favourite brands to make it easier on hubby

I have got ecobots prefolds are really like them. I didn't find the covers overly great tho - prefer Bambino Mio covers for softness and trimness.
My wee man is 13 weeks now and I am using a mixture of prefolds and covers (bummis covers at the moment) and find that these are more effective and I have less leaks with them then with pocket nappies - especially at night.
