Topic: Ectopic panic Posted: 11 September 2010 at 10:04pm |
Okay, I'm completely jumping the gun here but bare with me.
I've been getting very MS type symptoms for the last week (maybe more) that fit my previous pregnancies perfectly. But AF hasn't returned yet after my baby so I can't use this as a guide. I've done 3 pregnancy tests now (the latest one today) and they are TOTALLY negative (I can't even somehow imagine an extra line).
So I stupidly googled and it kept coming up with Ectopic pregnancy. I'm going to go to the doc's on Monday but what I'm wanting to know is;
If you've had an ectopic, at what stage did it feel "different" from a normal pregnancy? And what do they do about it and how fast does it need to happen?
Also, for any of you that got negative preg tests after their early preg symptoms and went on to have a normal pregnancy please feel free to come and reassure me that I'm just having a panic attack (since I don't even know I'm actually pregnant).

Thanks monikah. Part of me is so completely convinced I'm pregnant because of the way I'm feeling but I'm not sure I can make myself believe I could feel this way so early (to get the negative results). I want to find out for sure so I can be "happy" about feeling so bloody ickky!

I had an ectopic and I had no symptoms other than a missed period. I also had some random spotting which doesn't usually happen to me, it was very very light. I thought it just was gonna be an early miscarriage, I knew it wasn't right but It wasn't until 5w5d that i got incredible pain that I knew it was ectopic

I had about 3 negative tests before one finally turned up positive. I just "knew" that I was pregnant. NO idea on the ectopic topic though.

I had a positive test the day I went to hospital with an ectopic. Symptoms were nausea, dizziness, fainting, period like pain that got much worse.

Blood test was negative as well. I still feel like crap though. Suppose I must just have a virus or something but it feels so much like MS rather than just being sick. Annoyed that I thought I was pregnant though. I thought I wasn't really ready but now I'm actually disappointed. Very keen (desperate?) to get UTD but since AF hasn't returned yet I guess it's unlikely for a while.
Thanks for all your responses.
