does it show up every single mark.... i.e. grubby little finger prints?

We are just about to buy nursery furniture and are in two minds. All the other furniture in our house is that dark wood and we are trying to decide if we'll get dark furniture for Babies room or go with white...

For those of you that have white, do you regret it?? Also, as a friend pointed out as least with a white cot it doesn't show up teething marks as much as a dark cot would....

Do many people buy white furniture these days as there seems to be more rimu than white cots around ..

Any input would be great.
Thanks girls

we have a white cot and it does show the marks quite badly but nothing that a quick wipe over doesn't fix. i prefer the white ones myself but there's alot of gorgeous dark ones around!

there is a nice dark stain one at kmart on special for $350 (i think) and that includes an innersprung mattress!

good luck with your shopping.......how exciting!

I had white for Maya, I don't remember it showing up to many marks etc. but she did use it as a teething rail and took some of the paint off.
The gremlins have got dark stained cots coz I decided they looked nicer than white, but I agree with Tomtom, white in a room looks really fresh. Their cots have teething rails too which are great so even if they do decide to chew on the sides they won't damage the cot.

BTW, welcome Tomtom!

We have a white headboard for her bed and white chest of drawers. I don't find that there's too many marks that show up, nothing that can't be wiped off easily enough anyway.
I love the white

We've got a white cot, white change table/chest of drawers combo, white bookshelves, etc in Emma Rose's room. I love the way it looks. We have found a few marks, mostly from the stuff being bumped around when we shifted house, but a bit of spray cleaner and paper towels have taken the worst of it off. And it's easy to touch up later on. Em's room is quite small so I found that white furniture doesn't dominate it the way that dark stuff would -- it looks so light and airy.

Have to agree with the others- if the room is small tghen white is best. We have a white cot and love it- It looks really good with the contrast colours of the bedding etc.

Hi we have white furniture as well and I absolutely love it! Went so well with the apple green walls and looks so fresh. No probs with marks etc as yet. Some absolutely gorgeous wooden stained furniture out there too so depends on what look you want I guess, have fun buying your furniture, such an exciting time!! Still remember choosing ours!

Hi ya, we have white cot, drawers and change table and don't notice that it shows up marks but that is prob cos he is too small to leave marks everywhere. I imagine once we get to the stage of marks that it will be pretty easy to just wipe off. I love the fresh clean look of all the white furniture and especially liked the fact that we could change the look of the room easily by just buying different coloured accessories.

Have pics but photobucket is down so will try again tomorrow.

We have some white furniture in the nursery - it's a bit of a motley collection though! Not sure about marks yet as the wee fella hasn't had much of a chance to mark anything yet (YET! ) but we just liked how light and fresh it was, like the other girls have said.

Here's a couple of pics:
