Topic: Darn, Now what? Posted: 17 November 2008 at 5:49pm |
I've got an appt with FA on the 22nd Dec. I'm suppossed to get prelim tests done before the appt which is fine..... however... one of the reasons i have to go there is my cycles are incredibly irregular and range from norm periods (Have only had bout 4 of these this year) and cycles where i get the abdo cramps and only pass brown stringy clots (Sorry TMI!). I'm having the clot cycle now but am suppossed to get Day 2 tests done with will be tomorrow if I count the clots as cycle days.
My question is do I count the clot days as cycle days?
Can I ring FA and ask them if technically I havent had an appt there so i guess I'm not actually a client of theirs.....
 TIA

If you have an appointment with FA, I would definitely ring and ask them, after all the test results are for your appointment. My (limited) experience with them has been fantastic - they are very helpful and approachable.

Thanks I will ring in the morning. Has anyone had these clots or cycles like this and found out whats caused it? My biggest fear is that not only will I not be blessed with a baby, preferably 2 babies, but that they wont be able to tell me what the cause is...

Hi Minday - my cycles the same. I have been with FA since May and find them fantastic! I'd def ring and I am sure they will be more than happy to help. Do you know who your specialist is there? If so you can go through to his nurse who I am sure will help. I always have a ton of questions and they are always answered.
My cycles were irregular as yours are. All my tests came back fine - which was frustrating as in a way I wanted a diagnosis of what was wrong and a way to fix it. However on the other hand good to know all is ok with me and we will just keep trying - now on Clomid 2nd cycle.
Good luck and do ring FA in the morning.

Wow, rung FA and spoke to the nurse who was actually really rude! "so if your passing clots how do you know thats its day 2?" well duh because its the 2nd day ive had them????
she then said "well i dont know what to tell you!" *looong pause* better come and get them done today then!" very snappy tone
these brown clots are freaking me out! a little compassion may have been nice!

really sorry you had such a bad experience with the nurse - my gynae's nurse is like that (which is why i won't ever be going back to her cos the gynae wasn't very nice either)
on a positive note you have your FA appt coming up and you can ask the dr then, i am sure the dr will be much nicer than the nurse was
keep us posted

Mindy - sorry to hear your experience with FA. I hope you have better service next time. At least you tested - better to test and not be valid than not test and miss a month. Fingers crossed for you hun

Maybe the nurse was having a bad day, ill give her the benefit of doubt!
lmao or else i'll cry had my day 2 blood tests today during the clotty cycle (Sorry again TMI!) however this afternoon at work AF arrived properly! so I guess tomorrow morning will be day one cos i would have woken up with it (Is that right?) so thursday will be day 2, perhaps I should have more bloods taken then?????
edited for poor grammer
What do you lovely ladies suggest?

i would count tuesday as day1 cos you had half of the day with AF so today would be day2 although they say to do the bloods on day 2 or 3
would there be any harm in doing more bloods?

I think doing them again is a good idea as the clots will probably be counted as spotting and still the end of your last cycle - but doesn't hurt to have both!!

My specialist said day 1 is the day you wake up with period. But I know others have been told different.
However I would still get tests done again - better to have too many than not enough!
