Topic: Affordable pregnancy massage in Wgtn? Posted: 17 July 2010 at 4:15pm |
Hiya, I am 24 weeks pg and my lower back is starting to get really sore. I'd love to find a masseuse in Wgtn or the Hutt with a preggy table who doesn't charge the earth!
One place I have been to a few times charges $80 / hr which I don't think I can justify on a regular basis, esp when we are trying to save money!
Any tips appreciated, TIA

was going to suggest Tory St, not sure if they actually do preggy massage though, and I know they're about 75bucks.
You know there's preggy yoga on at the place next to the piano shop on Kent Terrace? If yoga might be your thing, and the ladies who go might be able to recommend someone.
Sorry, I can't specifically answer your question

thanks for that, yeah I go to a good yoga class, not specific for pregnancy but the tutor spends a lot of time with me showing me safe substitutions which is great. I think it is helping back pain but a massage wd be looovely too
But I might ask the tutor if she knows anyone, she seems pretty on to it...and perhaps my naturopath too...

Just been looking on the Domino midwives site and they've got a list of local people who do local things
apols if I'm not supposed to post linx here, but here it is
http://www.wellingtonmidwives.com/domino/local.php
of course, no idea of prices, I guess you'd just have to contact them directly to ask, but since they've got midwives linking to them, I would expect they would have a preggy table or similar (not quite sure what the preggy tables are, imagining a big hole cut out for a belly!)
Maybe if you're planning on a massage a week, or a set number of rubs, you might be able to negotiate some concession?
