Ok so we are lookign for a house as our house is a littl esmall for all of us. My DH asked me if I coudl have a look at them first as he is very busy at work. So the idea is that I contact the real estate agents have a walk through and if I like it and it would suit us my DH will come along but only then.

I contacted a real estate agent yesterday about a house that seemed perfect for us and his reply back to me was pretty much that I shoudn't bother as there was no way I could afford it anyway.

What the hell?!?! Does he not want to sell me a house????

Tell his boss, the boss should put a rocket up his ass and show you through himself. I've done that before and worked a treat and then we were treated like royalty lol

I work in RE and that is completely unprofessional so I would def took to his manager and let them know.

Just a wee tip though - you are much better off contacting an agent and getting them to work for you e.g find an agent you like or know and tell them exactly what you are looking for and roughly your price bracket, they then search the system and will show you all homes available, they will (or should!) check the system each morning for you so you will get basically first dibs on any new listings. Youc an also get them to take you thru other companys houses.

This is the best way to get houses at the best price etc.

We did exactly what peanut suggested, we ended up with an estate agent who was ringing regularly and talking to all her colleagues to find out what they had coming up that might suit us. Unfortunately we ended up buying through a different company but she showed us houses we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

I agree with Peanuts suggestion as well. This is how we bought our house. Since then we sold it with the same agent we bought it off.

If you're near Churton Park I can recommend an agent to use there.
