Hi -just wondering how early you can see a baby's heartbeat on ultrasound?

I have a dating scan next week and I will be around 7 weeks but would prefer to leave it a week or so if that will mean we are more likely to see heartbeat.

I don't want to be too early and end up worrying that there isn't one. With DS I was over 8 weeks so it was fine.

Thanks!

Dr google says 6 1/2 weeks the babys heartbeat should be able to be seen clearly. I think I was 8w1d when I had my scan.

I had a big bleed at 6 1/2 weeks so had a scan. They could see the little bean doing an abdominal but after about 10 minutes still couldn't see a heart beat so did an internal. Even then it took about 5 minutes of looking. It really depends on how the little bean is placed I think.

I was 7w3d by my dates, scan measured me at 7w0d and we saw and heard the heartbeat clear as a bell.

With Jae I was 6w5d and saw the tiniest little flicking dot, which was the heartbeat

I had a scan at 6wks up at ED cos i was bleeding and i think they couldnt see heartbeat but their scan said i was 5w 3d but i was 6wks according to the other scans i had later on etc.

next scan i had a 8w 2d and im sure we saw heartbeat, i know at 13w6d one we got to hear it beating when we had scan (got that scan cos midwife couldnt pick up heartbeat, isabella was hidding)
