Of having an independent midwife if they cant do anything for you.

The midwife has to refer me to the hospital to book me in for an induction.

She couldnt book me in for an ECV either.

When i was with the hospital team i never had these hassles...all the scans, ob appointments etc were all done at the same place.

I am wishing now i had stuck with the hospital...

sorry, another vent from me...

I had the same problem too. She couldn't decide herself out of paper bag.

Its crazy all the dumb protocol. I hope they do something for you very soon!!

i wont let them induce before 42 weeks cause i know my body and experience has taught me not to expect a baby before then unless she decides on her own. the 11th is the earliest i will go in. baby is happy, lots of fluid and placenta is fine so there is no need to rush her needlessly. Just cause i have had enough isnt good enough reason.

After reading Birth a History i feel sorry for my mw. its like all the power has been taken away from them. Midwives and other women used to the onew involved in births until male doctors decided that they wanted in then they tried to shove midwives out completely and this to me seems another way of making sure mw's have no or little power...

I was angry at my mw but i even rang the womens assessment unit at auck hosp to check and they agreed that she couldnt do it as it had to come from a doctor...now i feel sorry for her not being able to do her job properly.

She wants to come on the 11th like her brothers .

That really does suck now its all being taken away for the MW's. Mine had to get the OK from the OB for my induction with Josh just to do it right.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
