Topic: Waters leaking? Posted: 03 May 2008 at 8:50pm |
So like, TMI and stuff, but i'm wetter than usual (its all clear and a different consistancy? sorry for the TMI :/ ) and I was wondering if maybe that's whats happening? I dont know how much is supposed to come out when it does happen, so I thought i'd post and see what you guys think :)

How many weeks are you? I thought I was at 38w5d but turns out it was just lots of discharge Apparently near the end, you get an increase in discharge and it gets thinner in consistency.

If worried you can ask your MW to check. They have some swab things that can detect if it is amniotic fluid or not. Wow not long to go now.

when i first went into labour with my second son my waters were leaking slowly (they still had to be broken properly once i was fully in established labour) it was a little slimy but watery at the same time with a slight pink tinge to it. it was enough to wear a pad because of the icky wet feeling down there

My waters broke @ 40 weeks 6 days while I was in bed but they leaked the whole day and still 3 days later my membranes had to be ruptured properly to start labour which caused my waters to flow even more
You might want to talk to your midwife in this regards just in case

I'd say ring your m/w just to be sure too. I had so much discharge when I was preg with the gremlins that even my m/w had trouble figuring out if it was amnio fluid, but it was just other leaky bits and pieces.

I had heaps more discharge in the last week or so as well. What my mw told me was to put a pad in, lie down for an hour (ah bliss!) and then stand up. At that time it will either just trickle like usual (=ok discharge) or gush because it has been pooling for an hour (=waters). Give that a go and call mw if it's the latter.

I'll give that a go I think :) I'm due to go to the obst. at the hospital on tuesday, so i'll get him to check it out then. My MW is on holiday for a month and I have no idea who the backup is!!
