Not too sure Bubie. Maybe if you keep your hand out of the water and they wrap it in a waterproof dressing?!?! Sorry, very unhelpful

Good that the cervix is soft though. Some babies don't engage until labour starts so things might still happen before next week.

Good luck and thinking of you

Have others had a water birth with induction? I couldn't because I was on constant CTG monitoring (but I had the full works for the induction and even that barely worked).

Mon, can I ask why they will induce you at 40 weeks? I had a nearly-failed induction at 41+4-42+1 and my new MW is saying she'll probably try and induce me earlier. Just wondering if that's why they're inducing you earlier?? (Sorry, being nosy!)

i was induced with gel at 8 days OD but never got passed 2cm. was given the drip next day and it was all over in 4 hours. i have big problems with staying in hosp overnight and also wont have a c-section (same reason) and especially with me having a 12 month old at home i think his reasoning is that im struggling to haul him round as it is and back pain etc.. since i have had one induction with no problems it will be safe enough to give me another and there shouldnt be any complications this time, especially as cervix is already soft so i should be able to have the drip strait away, have baby and go strait home agian.
