I'm the same I wouldn't have joined if I couldn't lurk for awhile first... I think if people are really concerned about maintaining anonymity maybe the best thing is to not have profile pics or an identifying username...

Agree! Thats how I started out and still only use my childrens names in 2 threads.

I think its kinda sad that sooo many threads now have their own private FB threads. It takes away the fun and purpose of OB really.

I lurked for ages before I got up the courage to join in - and now I'm super glad I did, I have some wonderful friends on OB!! I agree with what LR & freckle have said about usernames & pics, if you don't put too many personal details online I figure you can stay pretty anonymous . I blog, so I guess the whole universe knows a fair bit about my (fairly boring!) existence anyway...
