would like some insight into what is happening with my weird body..

Just gimme what your thoughts are. (I have a midwife appointment on Monday so if I am still feeling weird I'll chat to her about it)

Last couple of nights I have had wicked backache that has definite highs and lows. Generally only happens in the evening (like 6pm onwards)

Today the backache is here already and has highs and lows.

I am also having dizzy spells.

Bubs feels lower (starting to get that "ball between the legs" feeling)

I have been drinking heaps as usual, nothing in my diet has changed dramatically.

I am at a loss as to why I feel like this...

Or am I reading into things too much

The Dizzy spells could mean you need to take Iron pills if you aren't already, I had them as an underweight teenager, and last preg, and starting to get them again.

The backache is probably just one of those darn preggy things.

Ummmmm you're having false labour and Baby is posterior?

Not sure about the dizzy spells I've been having those for the last six months whenever I stand up too quickly, the black flashy lights are so pretty

Hmmmm, Im not too sure what it is Bee, but the funny thing is that Ive been having the same thing, I started getting it at around.....maybe 34 weeks, where every night from about 6pm onwards I would get random pains and stuff, and thats where all my "False Labour" started, it go worse and worse as I got further along.
Mine was like lower backache(Caden was posterior at the time aswell) and also I was getting cervix pain and groin pain.

Im not sure about the dizzy spells though...but I would ne inclined to say maybe your Iron levels aswell?

Crap, crap, crap! Just remembered I have to take my iron pills

Could be just that things are nigglier being your second pregnancy too, I've found this pregnancy waaaay nigglier than Maya's (can't count the gremlins coz of course they were going to be a mission!)

Low iron wouldn't normally cause dizziness, extreme fatigue yes but not so much dizziness. Sometimes the dizziness is just a result of all the extra blood that is being pumped around your body to support baby, can make you a bit light headed if you stand up too quickly etc.

I'd def mention it to your midwife tho, that's what she gets paid for!

The only time I've had dizziness related to iron levels was when they were very severely low so I would have thought you would know if it were iron related.

My BP has been relatively stable until the last few weeks but even then I did have a couple of dizzy spells - my MW told me that's not uncommon in pregnancy - can be related to momentary dip in BP or hunger, tiredness etc etc

Re the back pain - is it peaking because you've spent a while in the one position maybe? Definitly worth mentioning it to the midwfe.

The dizziness tends to be at random moments. One minute I am walking around the house etc fine the next it is like..whoa grab onto something just in case I go down. A really random odd feeling actually. It doesn't seem to be a get up too quickly feeling of dizziness ( I get that too, but this stuff is seperate)

Tiredness wise, I am tired (But who isn't when they are pregnant LOL) and I do often have a nap each afternoon before I walk down the road to get Ethan from school.

I do take a multivitamin thing each morning (Blackmores Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Gold) that I have been on since we started ttc.

hmmmm maybe I'll give her a call, cos you guys are right, it will prob get worse tonight.

Bee - I had severe diziness during pregnancy, especially towards the end. It came on totally randomly and I would loose my vision and almost blackout if I didn't sit down.

I never found out what caused it, but when I had a turn I would always have something sweet to eat as I thought it could only possibly be my blood sugar levels getting too low.

Hugs to you, cause I hated it, it scared me to think I may pass out randomly.

Just rung the midwife.

She thinks from the sound of things, and going by where he was at my last visit, he may be posterior on my left side.

She recommended heat packs to relive the pain, if it gets worse to call her again, but she will see me on Monday.

Oh gosh I had that terrible back pain at night, I was in tears some times with it

I kept going back to the doctor and eventually he gave me this ointment to rub into my back, it burnt for a bit but then numbed everything it was bliss I have kept it for next time. Think it was about $30 a tube? started with Z and I just had a script for it

I was told the dizziness is either low BP or just the extra blood being pumped around. Before I was pg I always got it if I didn't eat within an hour of my normal mealtime to the point I would pass out (low blood sugar etc etc). When I was pg it was mainly at the end of the pregnancy and the m/w said that seeing as we carry something like 1 1/2 times the normal amount of blood you can often get dizzy from it pumping through your body.

Are you drinking heaps of water Bee? Cos I know when i dont drink enough water it can make me feel a little light headed and a few times Ive had to stop and close my eyes and hold onto something until the dizzy feeling goes away.
