Hi, Just wondering if anyone owns or has tried the Bugaboo donkey? I have a 9month old and expecting #3 in October. She will be 14.5months when baby is born so i need to sell my beloved Stokke (Sob sob) and am after a double but dont like the idea of one on top of the other. The other option would be the new slimmer mountain buggy but i really love the look of the bugaboo donkey. I would really love to hear some real life opinions on it if anyone has any =) Thanks heaps!!! Apparently they are due in NZ very soon
I had the Bugaboo Cameleon with DS1 when we were in the UK and absolutely loved it but when DS2 came along we were back in NZ and the Donkey hadn't come out here. One thing about the Cameleon and the Donkey is the shopping basket is awkward to access especially when you're using the bassinet and it doesn't hold much stuff - I always have the raincover in it just in case and that takes up most of it.
Also I'm a bit hesitant about the width of the Donkey and how you can only have the kids side by side facing in the same direction.
If the Donkey hasn't come here by the time you need it, we ended up getting the Baby Jogger City Select instead and it has actually been really good - almost as light as the Bugaboo and same width as the Cameleon but you can have the kids facing each other or back to back as well as facing the same direction, and like the Bugaboo it's compatible with our carseat. It also has a massive storage space which is much easier to get things in/out of than the Bugaboo. Plus the BJCS bassinet is lighter and less awkward to move/carry.
Bit of a delayed response here, but I have the donkey and I love it!
I have a suburu outback and it fits in the boot (it does take up most of the boot, but thats a double for you!) It fits in all doorways and is super easy to navigate.
A hefty price tag, but worth every penny!
I believe milk store in Christchurch is the only place that has then in stock now days. But like i said in the other message its far cheaper to buy them over seas than it is here. Like we are saving $1000 by buying our donkey from Over seas.
DD 12 DS 9.5 DD 6 DS 4 DD 23 months and here comes number 6
