QuoteReplyTopic: preggie photos - when to have them? Posted: 08 May 2007 at 2:22pm
I know this topic has come up before but I was wondering at what stage do most people get them done? I guess you want to choose a time when belly is big and round enough but before it gets too stretch marked? Or do photographers hide that? I'm 26 weeks and wondering about doing it in the next few weeks or should I wait a little longer?
The photo that is over to the left is my belly at about 28 weeks I think, before stretch marks showed up but big enough to be a good preggy belly.
A good photographer can hide stretch marks using photoshop or some other photo editing programme.
It just depends how big you want to be in the photo as to when you get them done. I'm gonna get DH to take some more of me when he decides the light is "right" when he gets home from work lol
I think 6-7 mos would be the best cause you can still pull a pretty face (not too exhausted) but you have a nice big round bump - also it hasn't dropped yet.
I had my photos 4 days before I was due, but I was lucky as had no stretch marks. I ended up having Brenna 4 hours later as I went into labour while having the photos done!
I had some done at 29 weeks (pic on the side), as the photographer recommended around 30 weeks. I guess it depends on how big you want to be ... I didn't want to wait too much longer in case the rest of me kept getting fatter! haha. If stretch marks are a concern I'd do it around 30 weeks, if you want a really big belly, maybe wait til 34/35 weeks. I don't have stretch marks so they weren't edited out, but I'm sure the photographer would be able to do that for you if you want them to.
thanks Nikki, your photos are great!!! No stretch marks at the stage either....fingers crossed but as I got them as a teenager i'm kind of expecting them some time. i think I will get on to it soon and then I'll probably have it all organised by week 30 (things seem t take me ages these days)
Anyway here we go again - I've takenn belly photos for a few women recently and so far they've all had them done when they're due or a week out. A 30-wk belly looks really cute in photos but you might be left wanting one closer to 40 weeks as well. Ask the photographer if they're digital - marks can't be nicely edited out on film.
