Topic: Belly size Posted: 23 December 2009 at 8:59am |
I am 4 weeks pregnant today, so very early days. Today I put on my favourite jeans and I could hardly do them up!
What is going on? With my first pregnancy I wore my skinny jeans til about 14 weeks, but looking in the mirror today I can already see a wee belly (wouldn't be noticable to anyone else).
I know that the baby is probably not even the size of a grain of rice at this stage so how come my belly is getting big already?

With my number 2 my belly popped out straight away aswell! I couldnt wear lots of clothes in the first few weeks, but once I got to about 12 weeks DS seemed to move higher up, so I could fit into stuff again.
Congratulations on the pregnancy!!

this time around I noticed staight away that my jeans etc didn't fit and needed to go staight into maternity pants. Now I don't think I am that much bigger than I was the first time, just popped out sooner. This seems to be quite common against 2nd etc pregnancies, so I wouldn't worry too much.

yup bloating and hormones. this is my 2nd in a short time and during the first couple of months i looked really pregnant but strangely enough im 17ish weeks now and have no sign of a bump at all so i think once hormones settle you may be alright for a while till bubs is bigger

I did the same with this bub, I put on 10 kgs by 20 weeks and since then i havent gone up in weight at all, its been so weird because I was worried when I had put on that weight so quick, that it was going to keep going up! I think also because you have done it before your muscles maybe start to relax and stretch out a bit earlier??

This is my first bub and I was in stretchy topped pants by 8wks cause I didn't fit my work pants anymore! Was getting asked by strangers if I was pregnant that early on as well! So it was difficult trying to keep it quiet till the 12wk stage!
Congrats
