Topic: Under 3s Dance Classes North Shore Posted: 01 May 2012 at 3:29pm |
I've been searching for somewhere to take my 18month old for 'dancing' and tried Toddler Toes but it was a bit beyond her.
I'm a qualified dance teacher and have coached Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics and Aerobics for Kids so I'm thinking that perhaps I'll just try to set up my own classes for Toddlers (walking - 3yrs) on the North Shore.
Do you think there will be others interested and any ideas on where I could advertise?
Still in the planning stages.
Thanks!

I'm in NorthShore and have been looking for the same sort of class for my 18month old. Definately let me know if you set something up! Although we'd only be able to make a tuesday or wednesday at the moment.

Thanks! I'm pretty certain I'll go ahead with it. Just need to find a central venue - will probably opt for Sunnynook, or Glenfield community centres.
I was sure I couldn't have been the only one who wanted something like this :)

I'd go for this if you were on the other side of the bridge, actually, might even go for it depending on where you are on the shore. Sounds awesome, good luck! .

I'm on to it today. Can get Glenfield Community Centre and maybe Bayview. Trying for Takapuna but boy it's hard to find places that have mornings available!
What time is best for you mothers in terms of naps etc for your little ones? Are you still two naps a day or down to one?
Glad there might be some interest! I'm going to set up a Facebook page etc today and try to lock in a start date.
Have already started work on the syllabus and for music I have decided to go for popular nursery rhyme songs as well as a couple of more 'modern' tracks. I know with my little girl she just loves familiar things and repetition - hopefully it will still be fun for the Mums too. Twinkle Twinkle is a great song for stretching and (for you mums who are former ballet dancers) Port de Bras.
I'm excited!

Would have loved this, but my girl is almost 3 now, and we have been going to dancespace (in albany, but they are also in browns bay) since she was just over 2. It was the only 2yr olds class I could find looking west and the shore. Good luck!

Hey, good on you for setting this up! We attend Toddler Toes but it has soooo gone downhill this year, might be interested in trying somewhere new next term!
