Topic: Aqua Natal Classes Posted: 07 May 2007 at 11:46am |
Does anyone know of any Aqua classes specifically for pregancy in auckland?
The only one I can really find is in Newmarket, but its at 11am...which is sucky if you are working! Looking for a class to do in the evenings - but cant seem to find one.
I have been doing an aqua class at my gym, but my membership is about to expire and I cant justify renewing just to do 1 class!
Thanks
Sam

I'm pretty sure there are ones at Centennial and Pioneer...Prob QEII but not sure of times. Look on ccc.govt.nz website. I'm toying with the idea myself but dont have any decent togs to wear.

Christchurch - any of the classes at Pioneer are apparently all good, pregnancy specific ones are like 9 or 10 am on a wednesday.
As for togs - starfish on colombo st near south city. There have a maternity range (all black though, but they do make the togs there) about $70 for a bikini top and $50 for bottoms. They also to tankini tops, but alas I have boobies!! The lady is really helpful and I wasn't going to spend that much but am just stoked to have something that fits nicely

The Takapuna pools run pre- and post-natal aquanatal classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:15am. They cost $6 per class. I haven't managed to find any out of business hours yet.

I go to the classes at West Wave. I started when I was 14 weeks.
I go every Monday from 7.30 - 8.00, they also have a 7 time slot and do the same on a Tuesday.
The pool is nice and hot, 34degrees and the exercises are all quite gentle.
You have to be careful in normal classes that you don't do alot of twisting.
These classes do book up rather quick though. PM me if you want phone numbers, prices etc.

I just had a look on their websites and Aqua GO is suitable for pregnant mums, people recovering from injury etc. QEII - Tues 7.30pm, Pioneer - Mon 7pm, Centennial Sun 10am.
Might be something to try. I must check out that swimwear place.
