"Are you mad"
"Ohhh your brave"
"Do you know what your letting yourself in for"
"It will be soo hard"
Just because I will have two under 18mths when new bubba is born.
A congratulations would be nice not a scaring
Ok over my rant, just the hormones I guess but finding myself getting all teary when the comments start.

Its blimmin annoying isn't it?
I got the same responses from a lot of people when we announced our second pregnancy and there is 2 years between my 2!
Annnnd! A lot of the people saying that stupid stuff were the same ones who'd started asking 'So when are you going to have another one?' as soon as Ella turned 1!
People get so caught up in telling you what a dumb decision you've made that they forget to be happy for you, its so rude.
People are stupid. You'll be fine and your 2 bubs will be great mates, CONGRATULATIONS!!

There is a topic with the comments we hated while pregnant or just had a baby in the 1st baby forum.
I do feel for you, I got pregnant when Andrew was just over 2 and got a few of those, then when I found out I was having another boy I was told 2 boys is tough work.

Hey Emma... CONGRATULATIONS!
Lol.
It must be frustrating, some people just don't think ay, they're totally oblivious. I'm interested to see how people react if DH and I get preggie, as I'm sure they will think it doesn't make practical sense due to the stage I'm at in my career. And cos I'm young so got "plenty of time".
So I guess what I'm saying is... people always seem to say something annoying regardless of your situation, cos they don't realise. In fact I've probably been guilty of it myself in the past!
At least you're not alone in your frustrations by the sounds of things

dont listen to what people say!!
having siblings close together is awesome! it might be tough when they are young but so worth it.
My mum had 4 under 5 and we are all now the best of friends. and we had the best childhood. Some people just dont get that.
Keep smiling :)

It will be fab - because it is whet you want!
I get the opposite:
"You can't do that, it's cruel!"
"S/he will grow up to be a spoilt brat!"
"You'll change your mind!"
Just because we are only planning on one child.
The right number of kids is the number that is right for you, and the right timing is when they come, because you will love them!

I hate the comments too, a lot of them are intended as tongue-in-cheek but they don't realise how many times we hear the same comments! Argggghh! Everyone who meets me now seems to make a comment along the lines of "there, there, I had three girls too but my fourth was a boy". Whatever! I love my girls!!!
Anyway back to topic ... the best thing I've found is to have a really happy reply and if they hesitate, get it in before their comment. ie "two under two.... they're gonna be such good mates"

Don't worry about them! I get the opposite; "oh that's a huge age gap", "why did you wait so long?" Oh madam isn't going to like that"... blah blah blah!
I figure it's none of of their business...it's yours! Try to ignore it if you can.
