Hi,
wondering if people have any advice on whether its better to get electric pump or manual one?
Also with pads to put in your bra - disposable or washable ones?

Lovely topic I KNOW!!!

ive been using the disposable breast pads but if it is a cost issue go washable. I think mine are between $7-10 depending on specials etc. They last nearly two weeks.

as for pumps i like my electric one that learns your pumping rhythm - the avent isis one.

I used disposable breast pads I liked the johnsons brand not sure of the price though as DF got them for me and as for breastpumps I loved my Avent ISIS manual pump, was really nice when I got mastitis as it was gentle

I used washable breastpads mostly, they 'held' just as much and were cheaper on the pocket.
What I also got was these boob cups - avent isis comfort breast shells set - they were great to put on the side you were not feeding from to catch the let down (as beleive me you leak the side you are not feeding on) afterwards I would freeze the collected milk to use later on from a bottle. One of my best buys.
As for a breast pump I would wait till you had baby before rushing out to get one.
