Awwww hang in there chickie! The first trimester is really tough until the placenta kicks in at about 12 weeks. It isn't usually that tiring for the whole 9 months.

Everyone told me morning sickness and tiredness would go away at 12-14wks... my body had to prove em wrong though... morning sickness is still around though not nearly as bad as it was and tiredness didn't leave til about 18-19wks and now it's back again!

Hope you guys don't have my bad luck!

Tiredness does seem to linger around for that first trimester. Gets better after that, although for some better then others, same applies to that lovely morning sickness. But i wont say too much and scare you with how crummy I have felt the whole way through. I guess I am just not normal

Things will get better and there are so many things yet to look forward to.

I had the second trimester burst of energy, so that was good. Morning sickness had eased completely by 16-17 weeks, and am only just starting to feel nauseas and tired again now.

So yeah, it should get better for you soon.

I'm suffering from extreme tiredness too girls... it's bloody awful. I've been in bed by 8 - 8:30 every night for 2 weeks now, and DF says I'm asleep in seconds. I'm sure I wasn't this tired first time round. Bring on the second trimester!!

First trimester was really, really hard work to get used to - I had no MS, but I was exhausted. Would haul myself home from work, collapse on the couch and fall asleep, wake up, eat then watch tv till I fell into bed and slept solidly till the alarm went off.

It did get better round 12 weeks, but I have not had an 'energy burst', just had not so much tiredness.

Recently I had a preggy hormonal meltdown and spent a week in tears because of tiredness, but I am pretty usre that it is because for some reaosn I thought I could rock on as usual at work - my body has let me know that it doesn't agree with that thought loud and lcear! So just be kind to yourself and don't expect to be able to function at the same level as before. Hopefully you will get the energy burst, but I think it is good to be prepared for it not to happen as I kind of made my body think it did!

Don't worry, you're not the only one going to bed super early! I am sleeping about 10 hours a night at the moment, found that it helped me so much and my MS has decreased (touch wood!).

Get plenty of rest! I know that after a busy weekend (had to go down south for my grandmothers funeral) I am absolutely knackered! Can't wait to get back into my 10 hours sleep a night.

The only bugger is though, I have to get up a couple of times to the toilet! Apparently its good practice for when baby comes though for those nightly feedings!

For me, it hasn't really improved. Im 16w 1d now, and now matter how much sleep I get, I'm always tired, and I'm suffering really bad headaches - everyday! But, I shouldn't really complain. I basically had no m/s, just one week of nausea and I vomited once. I don't think the tiredness thing will improve - ever again!

Dont worry it doesn't last the whole time. In my first trimester I had bad morning sickness and was tired a lot....(it didn't help that I started work @ 6:30am!) I would come home from work @ 2:30pm and crash until 5pm then try and make dinner, eat , and than back to bed before 8pm lolz. After the 1st trimester my energy levels picked up but than tiredness kicked back in for me in the 3rd trimester.

I also wasn't prepared for how tired I'd feel. I get home from work about 5pm and go straight to bed for a sleep. Get up about 6 for tea then back in bed by 8.30. I feel like such a nana! I'm not sleeping that well through the night though as I find it hard to get back to sleep after all my toilet stops! Looking forward to the school hols coming up though and two weeks of r & r!

Kabe - I was like you in my first trimester.
I'd come home from work and say to DH that I was going to bed - sometimes I'd wake at about 9 and have a peice of toast and then go down for the night. It did get better - I think just a little after my first trimester. I am dreading it coming back soon though

I was just the same. It is tiredness like I never new...trying to explain it to people I would say it was like staying awake for 5 or 6 days straight....then trying to function normally. I would also fall asleep on the couch at 5.30 or go to bed only to be woken up for dinner then back to sleep. DF was FANTASTIC!!! still is, he does most of my cooking and we got a cleaner in for a couple of hours a week. he also gets up early and makes my lunch...I feel very spoiled.

My tiredness went away by week 16. Now I feel "normal" tiredness...ie have a late night, feel tired the next day. But I am still in bed by 9.30.

Hang in there....it does get better
